Inspiration for Valentine's Day outfits

If you're wearing lolita on a daily basis, Valentine's Day is a good opportunity to wear a fancier coord. To get a more Valentine's Day feeling in your outfit, red is a good colour to use in your oufit. If you don't have a dress or a skirt with red in it, try to use accessories which are red. Pink can also work instead of red. Heart shaped jewelery or bags works great too!

I created an outfit at Polyvore for a Valentine's Day coord. I also added two other outfits I found on polyvore which work for Valentine's Day.

Valentine's Day V - Love letter

It's Autumn!

Summer has ended and the trees are losing their leaves, a sign that it's getting colder. When I think of Autumn, I think about the trees in the forest, brown, layers, (fake) fur, forest animals, boots... that almost sounds like morigirl. But I also think about one of my favourite styles: country lolita. Some people will say: 'county lolita is only for Spring and Summer!' I think it's possible to wear it in Autumn too.

I found two examples of country coordinates that you can wear in Autumn/Winter.

Those pictures were found at: http://smoldering-rose.blogspot.com/
She wrote a greap post about country in Autumn and Winter, so I'm not going to repeat it: http://smoldering-rose.blogspot.com/2010/01/keeping-it-country-in-winter-time.html

I also found some pictures at Daily_lolita that has an Autumn feeling in it. I hope these outfits will inpsire you to create your own Autumn outfit.

Thanks for reading! It has been a bit quiet at my blog lately, but school has started and I'm quite busy with it. I'll try to post more often.

One skirt, five ways

This week I got a new skirt, an apple skirt from Metamorphose in pink.
I made some coordinations for fun, to see how I can wear the skirt.

Country girl
A full country lolita outfit. The outfit is similar to my country outfit for the fashion show, but this one has a different skirt.

 Fifties inpired
For this outfit, I'm going for a retro/fifties inspired look. I paired it with a white blouse, simple white sandals, a cute headbow and a brown bag.

 Casual
A casual outfit with a red cutsew, a white cardigan and some white overkneesocks. As accerssoires I added a pearl necklace and pearl bracelets.

Towned down country
Another country look. This time it's more towned down by taking away some colour, not so much red this time. A good outfit for warmer weather.

Green!
I wanted to use other colours than red and white and as I have no pink in my closet, I tried it with green and brown. I'm not sure if I like the result, perhaps some green tights and brown shoes would work better with this outfit. Opinions?

It all ends...

This week was the premiere of the last Harry Potter movie: Harry Potter and the deadly hallows part 2. I read all books and watched all movies, so I had to see this one too ofcourse. I watched it Thursday and the movie was great! I liked it much better than part one. I hadn't the opportunity to wear something Harry Potter inspired. I wore black with some blue, so perhaps Ravenclaw inspired? I think I'm going to watch it a second time, but then I want to have a good outfit.

I looked at polyvore for some inspiration for Harry Potter outfits.
You can find lots of outfits there, also for daily wear.

Lolita outfits
In the second edition of Pretty Cute magazine (not released yet) are also Harry Potter inspired lolita outfits, too bad I can't post them here. So I'll post a few outfits from polyvore/egl instead.

I didn't really find interesting lolita outfits, so I think I'm going to make some polyvore outfits in the next few days.

Animal prints

This was on my bloglist for a long time: animals!
I'm an animal lover and I'm getting two rabbits myself this Summer. I can't wait till they are old enough.

An animal theme can work for any style. I created some outfits for sweet, gothic and classic as inspiration for an animal themed look.

Sweet
For the sweet looks I chose honey picnic and sheep garden. At the honey picnic jsk I tried to bring out the brown of the bears. The golden shoes make the look more summery and grown up. With some cute bear accessoires you make the look complete. The sheep garden outfit has socks, a bow and the bag from the same series. I think the sheep bag is adorable.

Gothic
Before I made these outfits, I thought it would be easy to create a gothic outfit with an animal print. But it was more difficult than I thought. These two outfits are darker than the other outfits, but they have still something classic. I combined the butterfly jsk with a black blouse and butterfly themed items. The flamingo jsk is combined with a bolero. To go a bit more crazy you can add boots with hotpink shoelaces and pink bows.

Classic
For the classic outfits I chose two jumerskirts from Innocent world. They ended up brown both, but it fits the animal theme fine. I added dog and deer accessoires. Deer accessoires are quite popular these days, so it wouldn't be difficult to find them in local stores.

Melty Mermaid Princess

Another mermaid post!

Alice and the pirates has made a new print: Melty Mermaid Princess. Now we can finally see the print and the designs of it. Many pople wondered how the print looked like. The print is based on the original Hans Cristian Andersen story and is very detailed. (Click at the picture of a lager version.)  There are four colourways, but I like the white x blue colourway the most.

The designs are a bit dissapointing, especially the jsk. The ruffle at the jsk looks unflattering and the ruffle at the bottom don't look good. The OP is fancy, but I wouldn't wear it myself. It just don't fit my style. I like the skirt most, but too bad it is too small for me. I do like the socks and the headress, but the necklace looks cheap.

What do you think of this new print?

I made a quick outfit with the skirt.

Sweet and Gothic Mermaids

Aqua princess is one of the new prints of Angelic Pretty. This print reminds me of Mermaid Symphony and Twinkle Mermaid, two other prints made my Angelic Pretty with mermaids on it. Especially Twinkle Mermaid looks very similar to Aqua Princess. But this time the colours of the print are brighter and they made some nice colour combinations. It's made in the colours pink, sax, black and mint.  A print with a mermaid theme is perfect for Summer.

Twinkle Mermaid

One print, two looks
With the colourways of Aqua Princess you can make two different looks with using the same print. Sweet coords with mermaids on it are much more seen, but a gothic outfit around a mermaid theme is more rare.
I tried to create two different looks, but still with the same theme.
In the gothic look I focused on the bright purple, without making it too overwelming. And the sweet look is pink and with with a classic touch. Both looks has pearls, pararols and a shell shaped bag. Those items reminds me of the sea.

Celebrate our freedom

Yesterday we celbrated our freedom in the Netherlands, the day we remind that all German soldiers left our country. A lot of coutries have their own day of freedom, like independece day in United States. Freedom is something valuable that we should appreciate a bit more. We always complain about things we can't do, but we rarely look for the things we can. For everyone freedom means something else, so

What means freedom to you?

I created an outfit for this them with our national colours: red, white and blue.

Orange crazyness

Tomorrow, it's Queen's day in the Netherlands, a national holiday to celebrate the Queen's birthday. As some of you may know, orange is our colour. It refers to the Dutch royal family, the House of Orange. We Dutchmen can get really crazy with it, especially with a day like this or with international soccer championships. We call the phenomene oranjegekte (orange craze). Orange food, drinks, clothes and other stuff can be found everywhere.

Orange is a colour rarely seen in lolita and to be honest, it's not one of my favourite colours. I couln't imagine the colour combined with lolita, but I gave it a try and I looked at the possibilities with this colour. After some searching I found some pictures/dresses with orange in them and I tried to coorinate them. Supprisingly the outfits turned out nice.

What do you think of orange combined with lolita now? Do you still dislike it or do you like it now? Can you image yourself wearing orange? It would be great to hear some opinions about it!
