Orange crazyness

Tomorrow, it's Queen's day in the Netherlands, a national holiday to celebrate the Queen's birthday. As some of you may know, orange is our colour. It refers to the Dutch royal family, the House of Orange. We Dutchmen can get really crazy with it, especially with a day like this or with international soccer championships. We call the phenomene oranjegekte (orange craze). Orange food, drinks, clothes and other stuff can be found everywhere.

Orange is a colour rarely seen in lolita and to be honest, it's not one of my favourite colours. I couln't imagine the colour combined with lolita, but I gave it a try and I looked at the possibilities with this colour. After some searching I found some pictures/dresses with orange in them and I tried to coorinate them. Supprisingly the outfits turned out nice.

What do you think of orange combined with lolita now? Do you still dislike it or do you like it now? Can you image yourself wearing orange? It would be great to hear some opinions about it!

Happy Easter!

This is a quick drawing I drew today. The girl was supposed to look more happy, but because of the black lines she doesn't look really happy. My first idea was to draw a sheep, but I couldn't get the composition right, so I drew a chick instead. I'm not really happy about the quality of the picture shown above. In real life it looks much nicer, but atleast the quality of the picure is better than the scanned version, that one was horrible!

I'm halfway my list of Easter tips. One of the things I did today, was decorating eggs. They turned out a bit diffent than I imagined in my head, but I still like them.

Last minute Easter tips

Tomorrow it's Easter and to be honest I don't really have an Easter feeling yet.
So here are some last minute tips for Easter.

Outfit
Wear an outfit with pastel or light colours. For example, this outfit from Innocent World with soft colours and flowers, has a Spring/Easter feeling.

Sheep en bunnies would fit the theme too. This skirt from Angelic Pretty from the Sheep Garden series, is really adorable.

Flowers
Go outside and pick some wildflowers to make a bouquet to decorate the house.
You'll be suprised of what you'll find.

Eggs
A typical Easter tradition, paint some eggs and hide them! (don't forget to cook them)
I think it can be really fun to do this. It will be a nice supprise for your family if you usualy don't do this. You can also decorate the eggs with some (nail)stickers or even some lace. Ofcourse you can also hide some chocolate eggs.

Picknick
If the weather allows it, you can have a picknick in the garden of somewhere else. You won't need anything special, but you can make some Easter inspired food/drinks.You can even invite some friends if they don't have other plans.

I'm going to try out these tips myself and I hope others will enjoy these tips too.
